ஸ்மார்ட்போன்களில் அதிகமாக பயன்படுத்தப்படும் ஆன்டிராய்ட் மொபைல் ஓஎஸ் தனது புதிய வெர்ஷன் வெளியிட்டது. கூகிள் நிறுவனம் ஆன்டிராய்ட் நிறுவனத்தை வாங்கியதிலிருந்து பல்வேறு வெர்ஷன்களை அறிமுகபடுத்தியுள்ளது. அந்த வரிசையில் ஆன்ட்ராய்ட் 4.4 கிட் காட் என்ற புதிய இயங்குதளத்தை வெளியிட உள்ளது. இந்த ஓஎஸ்யை நெஸ்ட்ளே(nestle) நிறுவனத்துடன் இணைந்து வெளியிடுகிறது. இந்த ஓஎஸ் பெயர் காரணம் பற்றி கூகிள் நிறுவனம் விளக்கம் அளித்துள்ளது.
அதாவது, ஆன்டிராய்ட் ஓஎஸ் கொண்ட மொபைல்கள் அல்லது டேப்லெட்கள் போன்ற சாதனங்கள் நமது வாழ்க்கையை இனிப்பாக்குகின்றன. அதனால்தான் இதுவரை ஆன்டிராய்ட் ஓஎஸ்களுக்கு கப்கேக்(Cupcake), டூநட்(Donut), எக்லையர்(Eclair), ப்ரோயோ(Froyo), ஜிஞ்சர்பிரட்(Gingerbread), ஹனிகோம்ப்(Honeycomb), ஐஸ்கிரீம் சான்ட்விச்(Ice Cream Sandwich) மற்றும் ஜெல்லிபீன்(Jelly Bean) என பெயர்கள் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.இதில் எல்லோருக்கும் பிடித்த சாக்லேட்டின் பெயர் மட்டும் இடம் பெறாமல் இருப்பதால் தான் இந்த இயங்குதளத்திற்க்கு இப்பெயர் வழங்கபட்டதாக கூகிள் நிறுவனம் தெரிவித்தது.
Android is one of the highly used mobile operating system. Google announced that the next version of Android will be released soon. It will be named as Android KitKat. Google has tied up with Nestle, which makes KitKat chocolates to release this OS. It explains the reason behind the name. Google said "Android is the operating system that powers over 1 billion smartphones and tablets. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert... As everybody finds it difficult to stay away from chocolate we decided to name the next version of Android after one of our favorite chocolate treats, Kitkat,".
